Each of the 93 Parador Hotels in Spain will be offering free local cuisine next Tuesday 23 March to all comers between 12.30 and 2.00pm. This includes the five Paradores in Eastern Andalucía: Mojácar, Granada, Úbeda, Cazorla and Jaén. Those who come along to the Mojácar hotel will be offered 'Guisos de la Alpujarra Almeriense', which will include, fritá gitana de Laujar, hinojos en ajillo de Abla, conejo de cabrera con gurullos, ajo colorao con bacalao y huevo, crema mojaquera and minchos de Níjar (most of which I have no idea how to translate).
The initiative, coupled to a slice of local history (we shall be received in Mojácar by some Moors and Christians), is the start of a special offer to run in all Paradores until the end of the year, called 'El arte breve de cocina': a special menu of delicacies priced at around 27 euros.
