The Mojácar ACEM is hosting an
interesting conference on the effects of the AVE - the high-speed train - on our area. The seminar, called
'La llegada del AVE al Levante Almeriense. Una oportunidad irrepetible para engancharse a un desarrollo sostenible’, to be held at the Parador on April 8th at 8.00pm with Jacobo Armero.

Following on from the story below - 'The Old Pueblo' - Mojácar's reduced but reborn PSOE has issued a statement today about how the Town Hall's (apparent) plans to extend the town planning department and build a tourist office up by the church, plus a 40-place underground parking lot, is (rather obviously) 'ludicrous'. Much better, say the smellysocks, to build - oh, let's see - an old people's home, a theatre, a health centre, a school and an interplanetary space-port.
I made the last one up.
Mojácar pueblo needs to be - as far as possible - pedestrianised. Having lots of traffic going up and down the one-car-wide church road is absurd.
