As a cost-cutting idea, the town hall of Madrid may stop daily rubbish collections. They would no doubt be shocked to hear that in Britain they collect the garbage once every two weeks - and then only if it is in the right coloured, shaped and sized bucket.
On the other hand, the ayuntamiento owes 6,000 million euros to the basura people.
Madrid's citizens are aghast at the idea: 'If they don't collect the trash every day, the streets will soon be full of mierda' someone tells a reporter.

Later: The ayuntamiento has decided to stop rubbish collections on Sundays and holidays... from January 1st next year.
