David Jackson has an interesting post
regarding the Mojácar Town Hall. Our town has a population of 8,173 (
plus those who never bothered to get on the
padrón,
less those who never got off it when they moved or died - a criticism here of the foreigners). Our town has 267 public employees costing a staggering €5.194.032 every year. That is one in thirty of the population, and, with the exception of British Leslie and a Romanian called Jimmy, the rest are all
mojaqueros. Whose jobs are safe. Which is why the
ayuntamiento can, in general terms, concentrate on bringing grief to the bars and clubs - they are all practically run by
gweilos.
